Peddig

Inspired by traditional braiding techniques used for basket making, the bowl Peddig serves as a current interpretation and updated edition of this particular skill. Using braided rattan, the classical ornamentation is being carefully preserved, but also somewhat challenged by further composition. As a contemporary take, the braided part is joined by steam-bent plywood and dyed in an ultramarine color, evoking the feeling of viewing something familiar and something novel at the same time.
